DAYS 2 - 3, Battlefields, Dundee, Royal Natal National Park,
We continue to Dundee the gateway to the battlefield sites dating from colonial wars involving the English, the Zulu and the Afrikaaner settlers - Blood River (Zulu/ Afrikaaner), Talana Hill (British/Afrikaaner), and Rorke’s Drift (British/Zulu). Before entering Royal National Park in the early morning to explore the stunningly picturesque surroundings. Highlights here include the Amphitheatre, a 5 km, 100 metre high rock wall, and the Tuglea Falls, the second highest waterfall in the world.
DAY 4, Drakensberg Mountains
Travelling on to the Drakensberg Mountains (Barrier of Spears), a 200 km long world heritage site that separates Lesotho from KwaZulu Natal. We have time to explore on foot some of the bushman paintings, waterfalls, cliff faces, forest and riverine bush on nature paths that crisscross this area.
DAYS 5 - 6, Lesotho, Johannesburg
Totally landlocked by South Africa, Lesotho is a beautiful mountainous country lying at 1400 metres above sea level or higher.
