Trip Highlights

The Sinai peninsular is a region of immense natural beauty connecting the Middle East and Africa. From its mountainous interior to its lovely white sand beaches and stunning coral reefs, Sinai has much to offer the potential visitor, and this tour combines a stay here with time in Cairo to see the ancient pyramids and sphinx.

You begin your tour in Cairo, with a visit the Gisa Plateau, site of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Pyramids and Sphinx. After learning about their history, we then take you into the city centre to tour the vast Egyptian Museum, with its famous Tutankhamun display.

We leave Cairo to travel across the Suez Canal and through the Sinai desert to the Red Sea coast and the charming resort of Dahab. Famed for its golden sands, this picturesque Bedouin village will be your base for the next few days.
While in Dahab we include a trip to the Blue Hole, a famous dive site with a huge variety of corals and fish that is also excellent for snorkelling. A sunset camel ride makes a memorable end to the day.

We also have jeep safari to the beautiful Coloured Canyon and lush green, palm filled Khudra Oasis before walking through the strange rock formations of the White Canyon.
You also have a chance to try some scuba-diving and climb Mt. Sinai and visit St. Catherine's monastery while you are in Dahab.

Finally you say goodbye to Dahab and return to Cairo, where you have time for some last minute shopping before your tour ends.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive in Cairo. We will meet you from your flight and help you to obtain you Egyptian Visa. We then transfer you to your Cairo hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to settle in.

Day 2
Today we will visit the Pyramids and Sphinx at Gisa before heading to the Egyptian Museum, which is home to many ancient artefacts including the death mask of King Tutankhamen. This evening is free for you to explore Cairo further.

Day 3
We leave Cairo early this morning and head to Dahab where we will stay for the next 4 Nights. After checking in to your hotel, you are free to explore the hotel and Dahab.

Day 4
After a free morning we travel the short distance to the Blue Hole. The Blue Hole is an excellent spot for some snorkelling. We will watch the sun begin to set over the mountains before we return to Dahab. The remainder of the evening is free.

Day 5
After and early start we begin out 4x4 safari into the desert. We visit many fascinating rock formations before stopping off at Ain Khudra Oasis for some traditional Bedouin food. We will return to Dahab in the early evening. The evening is free.

Day 6
Free day. We offer the opportunity today to travel to Mount Sinai and St Catherine’s Monastery or why not visit Petra in Jordan on one of our many excursions.

Day 7
This morning is free. We will take the midday coach back to Cairo where you will spend your final night in Egypt. Why not visit the Khan Al Khalili bazaar for some last minute bargains.

Day 8
Your tour will come to an end after breakfast, the remainder of the day is free until we transfer you to the airport for your return flight.

Accommodation Details

Our Standard tours use good quality hotels (approx. 3-star) in which all rooms have air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. In Cairo, subject to availability, we like to use a pyramids area hotel with a pool in the summer months, and a city centre hotel when it is cooler in the winter months.

The hotel in Dahab has a swimming pool. Breakfasts are not included in Dahab because we have found over the years that people prefer to use one of the beachfront cafes, which are famous for their big, hearty and cheap breakfasts.

Dahab (2 to 3-star):
• Oricana Hotel, Dyarna Hotel.

At certain times of the year or where circumstances & availability dictate we may need to use a different hotel from the one listed above.
