The huge peaks and tumbling glaciers to the south of Kangchenjunga provide a magnificent backdrop on what is one of the finest extended treks in the eastern Himalaya. It is a trek that will particularly appeal to those who have already trekked in the Everest or Annapurna region of Nepal. Following trails through pristine sub-tropical and rhododendron forest, we establish our magnificent alpine camps en route to the huge amphitheatre of peaks and glaciers of the upper Rathong Valley. Fully exhilarated we continue past isolated yak herder settlements and head to the Guicha La for unrivalled views of the remarkable East Ridge of Kangchenjunga in this remote and spectacular corner of Sikkim.
