Shree Bukha Deurali School Project
Shree Bukha Deurali School was established 45 years ago in the small village of Bukha in the Annapurna foothills. An expansive 15?room structure, the school presently has an attendence of 368 pupils with 15 teachers providing their education. During our trek to the school we travel beyond the tea houses, passing through traditional Hindu villages and following trails through oak and rhododendron forest where we camp in serene locations that showcase dramatic views of the Annapurna Range. On arrival to Bukha we can be assured of a warm welcome from the students and villagers before the hard work begins. Our project work will include general building and furniture maintenance, completion of a school canteen, much needed work on a clean water supply, and time permiting, construction of new furniture for the classrooms.
