Lycian Coastal Walk
Between Fethiye and Antalya along Southern Turkey's Tekke Peninsula, or Lycia as it is historically known, is one of the country's first way-marked trails, the 509km Lycian Way.
This mountainous route encompasses spectacular coastal views, archaeological treasures dating back to the 8th Century BC and interesting villages with their unique Lycian flavour.
During a series of day walks in the company of an experienced guide, we discover sections of the route with well preserved Greek and Roman cities, a Lycian necropolis lost in vegetation and a side excursion to the remains of the immersed city of Kekova.
At other times we traverse rugged mountain trails to meet the gracious local people, sample culinary specialities and swim in the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

Itinerary / Highlights
DAY 1 Arrive AntalyaDAY 2 Drive to Fethiye area, begin walk to Oludeniz lagoon and return to Fethiye (3hrs)
DAY 3 Transfer to the foot of Mt Babadag and walk through pine forest and plantations of olive trees, return to Fethiye (5hrs)
DAY 4 Visit the old Lycian city of Pinara and continue past isolated farm houses to Esen village, return to Fethiye (5-6hrs)
DAY 5 Walk past shepherds houses then transfer to Ucagiz, visiting Xanthos enroute (5hrs)
DAY 6 By boat to Kekova Island, visit Byzantine ruins immersed in the sea before continuing to Simena Castle on foot, return to mainland and continue to Demre (3hrs)
DAY 7 Visit Cirali and Phaselis archaeological sites before transferring to Antalya
DAY 8 Transfer to airport, trip concludes
