Helambu is relatively low altitude cultural trek near Kathmand
Helambu is relatively low altitude trek, is one of the most easily accessible short treks close to Kathmandu (Capital city of Nepal).
It can be completed in 11 days and is well supplied with lodges. The local inhabitants in Helambu are predominantly Tamang (One of the ethnic Groups of Nepal among 60), the Sherpa people inhabiting the higher villages particularly MELAMCHE GAON, TARKEGHAYANG & SHERMATHANG those which are also the highlight of the trek.
While most of the trek is at altitudes below 3000m, the high point at THAREPATI LA pass is 3600m and can experience snow most of the month. With a diverse range of brilliant green valleys, misty rhododendron forests and distant horizons of snowy peaks, Helambu is ideal for short staying visitor to experiences Nepal's walking tours.
