Cappadocia On Foot
For millions of years the volcanoes of the Central Anatolian Plateau erupted over the land to create the unique rock formations and fairy chimneys that characterise Cappadocia, Turkey. Through the centuries, civilisations carved houses and churches within these rocky pillars and underground cities leaving a natural and historic legacy which continues to be a focal point for visitors to the region.
Interspersed amongst these relics is a living culture of traditional villages, spectacular river valleys and rural settlements. Following a series of trails to reach the highlights of the region such as Mustafapasha, Ortahisar (or 'middle fortress') and Goreme to name a few, this walking trip explores lunar landscapes and fascinating ancient sites.
In the evening, you'll stay in a combination of comfortable family run hotels, a troglodyte hotel and village houses to gain a true appreciation of the warm local hospitality.

Itinerary / Highlights
DAY 1 Arrive Kayseri Airport and transfer to MustafapashaDAY 2 Walk to the village of Ayvali (3hrs)
DAY 3 Walk via vineyards to the Gomeda valley with its rock houses and on to Ortahisar (6hrs)
DAY 4 Walk in the Zemi Valley known for its rock churches and continue to Uchisar (6hrs)
DAY 5 Walk through the famous Love valley (Bagli Valley) where the most picturesque fairy chimneys are found, overnight Cavusin (3.5hrs)
DAY 6 Circuit trek taking in the Zelve Open Air Museum and ascent of the Bozdag Plateau with impressive views down to Urgup town (7hrs)
DAY 7 Walk to the rock churches in Gulludere (Rose Valley) and continue to Goreme (4hrs)
DAY 8 Transfer to airport at Kayseri, trip concludes
