At Himalayan Glacier Trekking, we're aware of our responsibility to protect the fragile environment and cultures that we work with. Our staff are all environmentally aware and we have launched various eco-projects in cooperation with KEEP (Kathmandu Environment Education Project). Also we are a major supporter of CEN (Child Environment Nepal), an NGO committed to helping Nepali children orphaned by the Nepali civil war.

Why Himalayan Glacier Trekking ?

Good question. These days it seems that every man and his brother are running an adventure tour company, so why should you choose us? We were hoping you'd ask that.

Who are we?
We are a small, personalized firm specializing in treks, tours and expedition in the Himalayan region. We have more than 15 years of experience in adventure travels, we have grown up; learning mistakes and comments from our valuable clients. We're based in Kathmandu, but also operate in Bhutan, Tibet and India too. When we first started out on this journey, we were the only company to take a stand against the exploitation of porters and guides that was rife in the industry at the time (and to a large degree, still is). And as a result of this, most of our staff from the beginning have stayed with us all this time. Our leaders, Sherpas, cooks and porters work as a well-balanced team. We recognize them as the pillars of the company; we respect them, provide them insurance and equipment, guarantee them work, and pay them well.

Our loyal, committed and experienced staff-base gives us the edge over our competition. In places like Nepal, money alone doesn't buy good service; only respect and trust, earned over years of working together, are what buy you a good experience.
