Dia 1: Lima
Arrival to the city of Lima, transfer to the hotel. Note that the first and the last day, there are no planned activities, so you can take the rest of day free.
Day 2: Cusco
Transfer to airport of Lima to take our flight to Cusco. Reception and transfer to hotel. We recommend you take a rest to get acclimatized. Rest of day fee. Optional city tour.
Day 3: Sacred Valley
Early in the morning a bus will pick us up to go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It starts out in Pisac, a picturesque town with colonial and racially mixed features. In the archaeological centre of Pisac one finds a hill called Intihuatana and an impressive view of the valley. We continue our trip to Ollantaytambo that was at the times of the Tahuantinsuyo a giant centre for agriculture, administration, social, religious and military activities.
DAY 4: Machupicchu
Early in the morning, we go to the train station of Ollantaytambo to leave to Machu Picchu. On the way we can appreciate the agricultural areas, the abundant flora and the course of the Vilcanota river.
We arrive at the train statio of Aguas Calientes. A bus will take us to the historical sanctuary of Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the ruins. In the afternoon we return to the city of Cusco.
Day 5: Arequipa
In the morning, free time to visit the surroundings of Cusco, its markets, museums, church and cathedrals, take an optional tour or just chill out in one of the bars around the Plaza de Armas. In the evening, transfer to the bus station to take an overnight bus to the white city of Arequipa.
DAY 6: Arequipa.
Transfer from bus station to hotel. Free day to explore the second biggest city in Peru and discover why it is called “The White City”.
Day 7 11: Trekking in the Colca Canyon
The Colca canyon “is one of the deepest in the world”, on the way there; we will see how they produce the Tuna (prickly pear) and the Cochinilla which is a worm that in Inca times was used to dye fabrics and also the famous Cactus and its fruit called “Muske”. During our walk we can also see the imposing snow capped mountains and the life style of the real Andean communities, their culture, clothing and how they really live in the high lands. Once in Andahua, our last town to visit in this awesome expedition in the Colca canyon, we take the bus back to Arequipa for a farewell dinner and a comfortable hotel bed.
Day 12: Puno
Free morning to visit one more time the city of Arequipa, in the afternoon we go to the bus station to catch up a bus to Puno. Once there, transfer to our hotel for a briefing with our local guide for the next days in the area.
Day 13: Uros Islands-Llachon Community - Tikonata Island
In the morning a bus will pick us up at the hotel, to go to the port of Puno, where we take the boat to Llachon. Visiting the Islands of Uros, to appreciate the floating islands and their inhabitants. From there to our first destiny, Llachon, where we will observe the life style of this community, then start our kayak tour on the majestic Titicaca Lake. We leave the Kayaks and take a walk along the shores of the lake until we reach the community of Ccotos, there, we take our fisher boats to get into the island of Tikonata where we spend the night.
Day 14: Puno
In the early morning we can appreciate the incredible sunrise,on the Titikaka’s Lake at the top of teh island. This small island was a “Pukara” for pre incas and incas cultures. After breakfast we take our boats to cross the lake to the shore of Ccotos, where our bus will be waiting to take us back to the city of Puno.
Day 15: La Paz
Early in the morning we go to the bus station to leave to La Paz, Bolivia.
Once there, we will have free time to explore the highest city of the world, its markets, museums and cathedrals.
Day 16: La Paz
Today is a relaxing day, free time to explore to La Paz Bolivia, visit its market, buy souvenirs, take optional activities, and get ready for one last night in the city
Day 17: Departure
End of our trip, but also good time to extend your holidays. You can check our section of Taylor Made Trips or simply go back home. |
